I had a lovely one-night stay at this place which is situated in a beautiful location near a charming village and a friendly local pub where I had a great time meeting the hosts and other guests upon my arrival.

Had a perfectly pleasant stay for one night, glad I've chosen it. The location was perfect and magnificent, right by other guests on arrival evening and the river, in a delightful area. And it was a 10-15 minute walk from Medieval settlement.

I stayed overnight at a welcoming B&B close to a wedding. Julie and Steve made me feel like family and the room was beautiful. the homemade breakfast was much needed and the patio was a perfect spot to relax. Can't wait to come back and explore the local area more!
Felt like they were family, no reason to complain.

Location: This place is conveniently situated near the coast, a cozy pub where you can mingle with hosts and fellow guests, and it's within easy reach of both Durham and Newcastle. Plus, it's just a stone's throw away from the Demesne Mill Picnic Area 🌳.

During my recent stay, I was initially hesitant about staying at a B&B instead of a corporate hotel. However, my worries vanished as soon as I stepped into Melbourne Place. The hosts, Julie, Steve, and Toby, went above and beyond to make me feel welcomed and comfortable. The decor and size of the rooms, particularly the White Room, were excellent. The breakfasts were wonderful, and the local pub just a stone's throw away added to the overall experience. The scenery and walking opportunities in the area were nothing short of spectacular. I can't wait to visit again. I highly recommend this hotel.

Great stay over Easter break. Enjoyed the beautiful scenery and amazing walks close to the hotel. the lovely local pub nearby is also a big plus. the breakfast and evening meals were definitely some of the best aspects with fresh ingredients and a lot of variety to choose from.
The duvet was a bit too thick and made us feel hot at night. There wasn't much ventilation in the room either.

Melbourne Place is situated in the old village of Wolsingham, the "Gateway to the Dales". The surrounding areas have all year round much to offer. Complimentary cooked-to-order breakfast served daily. I loved the free WiFi and the option to relax in the shared lounge area.
I didn't like. oh wait, there's nothing I didn't like!

I recently stayed at Melbourne Place for one night on my way to a wedding in Scotland. From the moment I arrived, Julie and Steve made me feel right at home. The rooms were spacious and comfortable, with a lovely en suite bathroom. Everything was impeccably clean, which was a relief when I was away from home. The breakfast was exceptional, with a delicious fruit and yogurt selection, as well as a great choice of cooked options. Julie and Steve went above and beyond to accommodate my son, who is autistic. Highly recommend staying with this welcoming and accommodating couple and their adorable dog, Toby!
Totally recommend this hotel.
